2:13 pm
conversations around the $130,000 money payment needed to made be made to the attorney general. and the meeting in 2017 about how to reimburse cohen for the $130,000 that he paid to stormy daniels, and that he was going to falsify the records to hide, to disguise that reimbursement as legal expenses. he has to paint that picture. he's the final piece of the prosecution. if the jury doesn't find michael cohen credible, the prose loose and donald trump could be awaited. >> now the defense is saying for legal work. wouldn't the defense have to then show some kind of documentation of what kind of work he did for the sums of money that he got over $400,000
2:14 pm
in reimbursements? >> probably so. i mean what the defense has been doing so far is trying to distance trump not only from cohen and painting cohen to be a some sort of fixer and a person who goes rogue and to who did this all open his own. he wasn't really paying attention to the documents he was signing. he wasn't paying attention to the detail. that's how he's trying to distance themselves from the crime itself. because listen, paying somebody in exchange for their science is not a crime. falsifying the records in order to commit another crime, which will rise to that level of the felony is the crime and what they are trying to do, he knew nothing about reimbursement other than for it. >> and now michael cohen

2:16 pm
prosecutor's case or the fact they say documentation will back them up in many ways and neutralizes that? >> yeah, cohen is a convicted liar. his hate for donald trump is well documented. but what the corporate has done and they are there to support what cohen is suppose to say. so what the prosecution wants the jury to do is take every single witness and listen to the testimony in contest of one another. not in isolation. because what they are doing again, building this puzzle one piece at a time, so the final piece of the puzzle. so yes, they have pre- corroborated his testimony. but the prosecution is not going to have full control over michael cohen where he has popped off, really just going after trump in the media outside the statements he's made. as of friday, he was wearing

the t-shirt in prison that he's selling these shirts. and not just to the truth, but also saying you hate donald trump so much that you are invested in seeing him. and so it is really up to the jury to believe cohen and the prosecution needs to argue he's telling the truth now because they have had so many other witnesses. if you believe them, you can believe michael cohen. >> there were a number of draw dropping comments that were made by conservative justices. and justice brett kavanaugh, for example, talked about how

unpopular rulings that could become a part of "the fabric of american constitutional law." comparing the ruling overturning roe v. wade to landmark landmark situations. and the one thing they failed to mention that they were extending rights. not taking them away. what are your thoughts on this? >> well, one part of what he said is we are always accepted. of course, he's eluding to the widely unpopular decision to overturn roe v. wade. but like you said, there's a difference between the supreme court ruling that expand rights and those decisions that restrict them. society will always fight to restore rights. but i doubt that the decision
2:19 pm
to overturn roe will be baked in to society's fabric. >> now it seems like it's lit cal. alito said they hop sort for public speech on college campuses is declining. presumably because of protest against the war in gaza. while justice clarence thomas dismissed gifts from wealthy conservatives as nastiness and lies. do you think these kinds of comments will undermine the credibility of the judicial system? and many saying they are claiming to protect? >> absolutely.
