the faq has lots of info.

if you are trying to look at .mpeg (mpeg-2) then try vlc.
divx has other players...

Thanks, the VLC works fine. But I'm still curious as to why Quicktime (the Pro version, for God's sake) can't play the file.

Apple charges extra for their mpeg-2 plugin based on the licensing fees by a nebulous crowd of patent contenders.

i am trying to view my movies also. is there any software i can use for os 9. it seems everthing is for X only.
