If not more electrifying, the rendition of The Other One from Radio Luxe on 5/16/72 is tighter and performed with more precision.

Uhggg snow, you how much I love 4/28 but I'm giving the edge to 4/15/70, which I chose for DDP 10. To quote what I wrote:
" I believe Phil was the key to this evening’s performance. He really leads the way pretty much throughout, and especially through the whole Cryptical sequence. That Jam in fast 8’s is probably one of the hottest things the band has ever done, and amongst my very favorite."
I think this and 3/1/69 are tighter and more electrifying - but I don't know about more perfect - by that I mean more precise.

I'll just add this: I know of few if any versions where each change of theme, each spontaneous arpeggio to spill forth from Garcia's brain, is so quickly and eagerly embraced by all members of the band. I'm stunned every time I hear it.

The balls to the wall energy cannot be exceeded by 12/29/68, as elb alludes; as for "tightness", I dunno...I do know that 2/11/69 has the TIGHTEST 11 though.

Something must be said about the disparity between the length of the two - 2/12/69's version is nearly 2x the time of the previous night's. I can't get enough of the tune, hence, may be a bit biased towards the longer version. Of course, there really are no less than stellar versions of this song.

2/12/69 is my favorite perfomance of The Eleven, though I cannot imagine how it could be mistaken for a tight rendition...

How so? By 'tight' do we mean 'concise'? Even then, there's little rambling involved, aside from the intro jam which still seems pretty sharp and focused to me.

Garcia has broken a string. He's absent for nearly 3/4 of the song. Weir slashes leads admirably, making for a blistering hot and unique rendition. But it's certainly not even close to tight playing...

DP 8, 1970-05-02 would probably get my vote. Its pretty fucking amazing.
And if were talking just TOO, then how about good old 1978-02-05 (DP 18). That is a super tight monster of an other one. And most certainly as electrifying as any other one ever got.
And if we want to speak on pure epic-ness. The TOO from 1972-09-17 (DP 23) takes the ultimate cake, i cant think of too many jams that can even compare let alone be considered in the same ball park.
