Speaking of acid flashbacks, just finished "Angelmaker" by Nick Harkaway. I think Nick may have been experiencing such an event while writing it. Great stuff.

That book picked up some pretty solid reviews as I recall. It's probably about time I got myself a copy - doomsday fantasy gangster noir sounds like my kind of thing.

The Gone Away World is the best of his works. A little Monty Python, a touch of Nick Adams with a splash of Frank Herbert. IMHO anyway.
