Gov't Mule at the Warfield (Non-Dead) |
Hey guys,
Tickets just went on sale for Gov't Mule at the Warfield in SF! I haven't seen the Mule in a few years and I'm super excited to catch them at this legendary venue. I've never been to the Warfield so any thoughts on which seats to get would be appreciated.
GA? Lower Loge? Upper Loge? Balcony?

I always tried to get on that first row of tables/booths but that's because I've never enjoyed standing on the floor. The lowe loge would be cool too. If I remember right though there are pockets where the sound can get muffled.

But the sound inside has been vastly improved after clear channel lost lease and aeg/goldenvoice moved into the building - such as speaker monitor underneath balcony/overhang area for the back tables (B-2 is where I'll likely be if can make it up)
I actually quite like that first balcony section - where i was for wilco and where this was shot:

Great spot. You'll be able to enjoy fully.
Post a reminder prior to the show and if I end up going I'll buy you a drink or 3.

I got a couple seats in Row A. Common sense tells me that's the front row, yes?
I will definitely check in before the show - it would be very cool to connect.
Did you end up going to Primus in Santa Cruz last month? Fun show that was - the energy got real good towards the end to these ears. Last year at Earthdance was a crazy good Primus show that just rocked all the way through. Venues couldn't be more different as well as my state of mind.

Re: Gov't Mule at the Warfield (Non-Dead) |
Yes! Front row. Will be killer. The Halloween tribute to Sly and the Family Stone by Warren/Govt Mule was outstanding.
And I DID see Primus at the Civic. Drinks at the Red before the show and then over for last part of Fisbhone! One of the BEST Primus shows I've seen in many, many a moon. Les was in a very, very happy mood, as he noted from the stage, because his young nephew was found to be clear of cancer that day at St. Judes. Kid is like 6 and been battling for more than 3 years. Taken quite a toll on the family. This is his brother's shop in Sand City; Les did the logo/design:

Anyway, we're planning a Les Claypool week down in Monterey in the coming year (music, film, book signings, etc) for raising cash for the kid's medical bills (no health insurance). Will definitely post here. BE SURE to post before Warfield since my buddy who runs the Warfield was the Primus manager for over a quarter century and is pals with Warren (who loves Les). IF I go, will grab some drink tickets and hook up (I'm a cheap bastard). could always meet at show dogs for some beers before hand. (
