I feel your pain....sorta |
Mrs. Mando and I have a very small intercept of musical likes. She cringes everytime we get in the car in anticipation of me not being able to change from the Bluegrass Junction channel on XM fast enough. She's blase to downright hostile with most of the Dead tunes - although she likes the Barton Hall "Morning Dew" enough to have it on her computer and iPod.
Our overlaps consist of Tears For Fears, Pearl Jam, Broadway, Itzhak Perlman, Yo Yo Ma, some Sarah Brightman and that's about it.
A few years ago we were at a party with a bunch of friends and inevitably FloydFest came up - cue Mrs. Mando heavy eye rolls. One of her friends asked if she went with me. We both said "No!!" Her friend went on to say that she should go to show support for me.
To which we both shouted "Hell NO!!!" When asked why not, Mrs. Mando succinctly stated that doing so would only result in two people having a miserable time.
I suppose that's why we've been best friends AND married for 28 years........
