Re: I have to bitch where someone will care ... |
Agreed with unclejohn, do yourself a favor and bring someone who is going to have fun. Maybe it's "in good fun" teasing you but there's some passive aggressive shit going on there IMO to pick on you about something you love so much. Not nice.

Oh, no, they're just having fun. Hubby who called it "Box of Pain" actually loves Box of Rain. He didn't really have a lot of fun last year, but last year, it was 100 degrees that night and really nobody had much fun. He thought some of it was all right - as he said to my son, a couple of songs were all right out of about 40 ...

Well, I'm a fan, of course, and I've seen both The Dead and Further, and I'd say that your hubby pretty much nailed it. Let's face it folks, this isn't 1972... or even 1992.

Reading some of this I feel quite lucky. My partner seemed OK with Live Dead's Dark Star, but not so enthusiastic about listening to much more.
Her background was mainly folk (+ Tangerine Dream) so I was able to draw her in by playing the 1980 Radio City shows. The more traditional acoustic sets led into electric 2nd sets and songs like 'Must have been the roses' drew her furthur in.
We went together to Wembley in 1990, and although 20 minutes of 'Space' made her teeth itch the rest of the evening went really well.
