Hitch-Hiker |
Hey!
Does anyone know where I could find a copy of the original 1941 production of The Hitch-Hiker by Orson Welles. I think it aired on The Orson Welles Theatre/Lady Esther Show, but I'm not 100% certain. I have the 1942 version, and I can find the 1946 on this site... but the original is my favorite. I had a had copy on audio cassette, but managed to lose it before digitizing it.
Thanks!

Re: Hitch-Hiker |
Try "Orson Welles" in Radio Programs.
You'll find lots of Welles.
He did an excellent version of the Hitchhiker on "The Mercury Theatre."

Re: Hitch-Hiker |
Thanks for the reply. I did. "1941 Orson Welles Show (Lady Esther)" has 8 broadcasts but sadly not the Hitch-Hiker.
I've found the two other broadcasts (1942/1946) which are both very good, but I can't shake how perfect the first one is. Any suggestions for other resources?

Re: Hitch-Hiker |
I couldn't find Orson Welles On Suspence, but when I searched for "Orson Welles Suspence" I got Suspense 01. That list has the 1942 version of Hitch-Hiker but not the 1941 version.
Is that the section you meant?
