Re: Happy Birthday Jim! |
Glad you remembered
Thanks All, drank too many beers Sat night, then went sailing most of the day Sunday and had my three youngest daughter's over for Dinner and Ice-cream cake Sunday Eve.
5/6 is a good day for GD shows as I recall - MIT to mention one.
P.S. Been real busy with work so not doing much lurking these days.
P.S.S We have decided to got to the Gathering of the Vibes this July - nice line up and they have Car Camping (a big plus when you're over 30).

looks like my insensitive nature got the best of me again. i extend my heart-felt apologies to your leaky Depends, lame ancient ass. Maybe your Depends woudn't leak so much if you laid off the strained beets and bound yourself up a bit with some thinly sliced and then mushed-up cheese. Plus, laying off the beets would make your poop less red and you wouldn't have to get paranoid that you blew out a hemmoroid or something.

Outstanding!
Thx for that tip.
And, congrats to the little ones--er, teenagers sorts--but I am still not clear who "Jim" is, or was, or will be...? "Season" suggests sports related, I suppose. Boston beaner mayhaps?
I saw some idiot predicted Lakers vs Celtics in the finals; you guys are doing better than I expected, but not sure we'll make it there ourselves...besides, if any more Lakers whack anyone else, I may have to rethink this (though I am certain they learned all they know about dirty play from the Pistons and/or the Celts...righ?).

another Celtics/Lakers rematch in the Finals would be sweeeet!! Like you, I am somewhat in doubt that either of those teams will be left standing come the Finals.
(and yeah, i am still trying to figure out who this "Jim" is too - i just felt like responding to the post since it had the words "happy" and "birthday" in the subject line)

HAHAHA...
Perhaps a relocation is what is needed:
http://powerquality.eaton.com/About-Us/News-Events/2012/PR070512.aspedit~
Among the most unusual causes of power outages in 2011:
•Spokane, Wash.: Strong winds picked up a trampoline and dropped it into a substation.
•East Missoula, Mont.: A bald eagle dropped a deer carcass onto a power line
•Salt Lake City, Utah: A paraglider got tangled in a power line (the paraglider survived)
~Somewhere in AZ: A sex starved woman cut every power line
within 11 miles of her and husbands home

I have a 14 year old too. He often is quite amazed at how far his parents have gotten in life regardless of our obvious stupidity. The first 15 seconds of this clip I am going to utilize if needs be. 30! Try 19.

Re: Happy Birthday Jim! - and little hijack to flow |
Kudos on the b-day.
Flow, spent yesterday in Big Sur for last day of Hipnic. My 11-year old spent bulk of afternoon with Sarah Lee Guthrie (she and her husband just recorded with J. Tweedy and P. Sansone of Wilco in Chicago) and then did the honky-tonk dust kicking with Brokedown in Bakersfield. Chico was in full effect - including Hips' beer from Sierra Nevada. Very cool, mellow day. Couldn't make the "whole scene", but Jackie Greene was night before for Skinny Singers/Mother Hips.

Jim is Bill? Bill is Jim? I'm confused. I'm pretty sure Jim and Bill are not also dire's 14-year-old daughter, though I'm quite sure she's prettier than all the above.
I typed in "Bill Kreutzmann" to check his birthday. The auto-complete suggested "Bill Kreutzmann net worth." Turns out to be $25 million. That buys a lot of drums and scuba gear. I think he will have a very happy birthday indeed.
Happy birthday to all.

Re: Where Phish Beats the Dead |
Here's a fun time waster. You can just google a celebrity's name and "net worth" and you get a figure from some site called, I think, Celebrity Net Worth.
Bill's the poor boy in the gang. Here's how they line up:
Bob: 30 mil (same as George Bush, supposedly)
Mickey: 30 mil
Phil: 35 mil (same as Kate Winslet)
Jerry's estate: 40 mil (same as Meryl Streep)
Robert Hunter: apparently not a celebrity
Now, how about this:
Trey Anastasio: 75 mil
So Trey beats ...
Colbert: 45 mil
Bill O'Reilly: 50 mil
Michael Moore: 56 mil
And some folks down in the po' house:
Alison Krauss: 16 mil
Joan Baez: 14 mil
Pete Seeger: 4 mil
But does not beat ...
Bob Dylan: 80 mil
Jon Stewart: 80 mil
Glenn Beck: 85 mil
Justin Bieber: 112 mil
Eminem: 120 mil
50 Cent: 250 mil
Mick Jagger: 306 mil
And then you have the winner, among those I just spent some dumbly fun time looking up .......
Rush Limbaugh: 350 mil

Yeah, I figured he'd be up in the stratosphere with Oprah, who I didn't look up cuz I didn't want to deal with scientific notation.
It's startling to me that Trey is worth so vastly more than the surviving GD members, though, with all their gazillion DPs and so on. And they weren't particularly hugely rich during the life of the band, even with all that touring revenue. If you look up Jerry's estate when he died, it was about $9 million. Brent was worth $2 million.
Converted to 2012 money, Jerry was worth about $13 million and Brent would have been worth about $3.5 million.

We only have one sailor named Jim here. I'm afraid your interactions with the former Prime Minister are starting to give you a certain befuddlement.
In all fairness, j-i-m is not in his handle-thingy. He did get married with in the last year or so but not to the li'l mando.
There, that should clear it up.
Here's a little TDIH second set AUD tidibit. Love the TOO: it never explodes (like, say, 1978-02-05) but it oozes up to speed and pulsates like a Great White cruisin' for sea lions. (At least, that's what I thought of.)
