my kid ought to be able to work 14 hour days at a buck an hour...

Good observation, BD! He sure should be ABLE to! Especially if he's learning a trade and gaining experience. And he also should be able to quit for a better job, or barter work for things. FAR too many "Unions" are corrupt bunches of gangsters and thugs, that support our thug "leaders"

Believe, I'm not blind to the evils of unions and their organizers - Ray Liotta in Goodfellas was not a work of pure fiction. That said, the labor movement in this country has historically done some good things and there does seem to a full scall attack on organized labor. Once the right to collectively bargain is gone, game over - for both management and labor. As usual, I got no answers - just acerbic observations.

Agreed, like women's suffrage and abolitionists alike were relevant in context.... but once the job is done it's time to move on. Don't tell Al dulalr Sharpton and Jesse Jackass that the 1964 civil rights act, ECOA, and other legislation has passed to protect black people or they won't have a race hustling career.
