Loading of embedded player is PAINFULLY slow compared to the old player (I.E. from more or less instant (old player) up to 48 seconds (new player) side by side on the same webpage! Any plans to fix this?

i couldn't imagine how this is possible!
even if you had caching turned off for our site in your browser,
the extra pieces needed for new player aren't that big (nor are the # requests that many as we use a .zip for distributing lots of little files for flash; and png base 64 encoding for html5 inside an .xml file)

there is now a "I prefer flash" new link at the bottom of the new player.
how is performance for you when you try that?
