new video/audio player "opt in" is live! |
If you haven't already seen this (went live yesterday),
look below the current player for:
Would you like to try our new video/audio player ? (beta!)
and you can give it a try.
Some really nice features:
- a much more robust player than the current one
- better sharing to facebook and twitter (which works for off-site embed codes)
- much better and richer "embed" codes, (using iframes) that now work on iOS and non-flash devices.
- ability to embed playlists off-site
- fullscreen for many browses for off-site embedded archive videos
Please reply below with any feedback or issues you may encounter!
If you have any issues, kindly mention your OS and browser as that will help us squish any lingering bugs!
Cheers!

Re: new video/audio player 'opt in' is live! |
I only need an audio player. I just need a player the size of 100w x 32h (not 640x480) to play mp3 files (no video).
When I change the dimensions of the imbed code, the controls for volume etc. are not accessible. I don't have the real estate on my website for a 640x480 black box.
Thanks for your help!
PS:Is there anyway to get the controls to "drop down" rather than "up"?

Re: new video/audio player 'opt in' is live! |
about the smallest i'd recommend going is ~300x30
eg:
http://www.archive.org/help/audio.php?ht=30&wd=300&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.archive.org%2Fembed%2Fjj2008-06-14.mk4
as of now, we can't easily go "up" because the new player is a bit more video-centric and as such, required a lot of custom changes to make audio work nicely and embed nicely, etc...

do you know which IE version it is?
we dont support IE v6 anymore.
I'm surprised anything we're doing can make IE fatal!
