Buddy Cage pedal steel for NRPS |
The post Garcia NRPS recorded three solid LPs (Powerglide, Gypsy Cowboy, Panama Red) and was a great band to see live up till 75/76 IMHO.
Buddy Cage could bring the house down on any given evening with his electrified acid steel instrumentation.

Re: Buddy Cage pedal steel for NRPS |
I saw them just last weekend (10/8)
at The Family Roots fest:
http://www.nrps.net/music/tour.htmlThey absolutely fucking ROCKED. I was looking forward to
seeing them for the first time, and they exceeded expectations. That steel pedal sound sent shivers up my spine.

For the past many years they always played in nearby Bayshore in the fall, this year it is not on the calendar.
I'm bumming!! Buddy still has it as does Dave - the new guys are real tight too.

Re: Sneaky Pete's pedal steel for Flying Burrito Brothers |
"Last of the Red Hot Burrito's" - one of my favourite 'live' albums.
Even though Gram Parsons had long gone, Chris Hillman did a great job carrying the load.
No argument ..............

Re: Sneaky Pete's pedal steel for Flying Burrito Brothers |
If the memory serves well, the chronology was as follows;
Beach Boys > Byrds > Mamas and the Papas > Buffalo Springfield > Poco > NRPS > CSNY > Flying Burrito Brothers > Eagles > Manassas > Firefall > Linda Ronstadt > Joe Walsh.
Useless words such as genre pail in description of the classic Southern California vibe. Gram Parsons was a great talent, one for the ages!
