As far as getting the best picture quality you can, Just download the file you'd like to run, play it, and see if it measures up. I've found quite a few small files I've downloaded here have surprisingly good resolution. If the movies are PD, you should be able to do whatever you want with them. You might run into a little trouble showing these films outside, depending on where you live, as they might be considered a distraction to passing drivers, at which the local cops may come by and tell you to cool it. You may want to show your movies inside. I remember a Straw Hat Pizza Palace that use to show movies inside their restaurant back in the 70's. It was my favorite hang-out when I was a kid. Guyzilla, my wife and I hung out at VIP Pizza in State College PA many years ago. Same thing: little movie cartridges, and patrons would just pick and choose among them. Not all PD, either, but a lot of fun.
