Deriver mutilating my 128kbs MP3 files! |
This DID NOT happen before 'maintenance'
http://www.archive.org/details/tth_110304I uploaded via ftp and everything appears normal on page but the playback via m3u AND dl'd file is garbled. The player on the detail page does not run.
First' I will re-upload the file via the http uploader (a memory hogging flash curse) and if that doesn't resolve the issue (and fwiw Archive NEVER FIXED the mis-identification as VBR files uploaded by http 128
kbps files and the failure to tag unless manually edited...) I will re-derive item myself as 192K and see if it makes a difference.

Re: Deriver mutilating my 128kbs MP3 files! |
Re-uploaded via http... That's better... although I needed to manually cut and paste all the file tags back in, change the file designation from VBR MP3 to 128kbps MP3, and re-derive on-site via the item manager before the tags showed (VBRs must have their tag location in a different place in-file)
It begs the question... why did my original files get garbled? And WHY, after the many times I've mentioned that the HTTP uploader DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY including my recounting the steps to resolution by the user multiple times, is this still not repaired?
I won't even mention the inability to embed... A change made WITHOUT WARNING TO PATRONS, because it disgusts me.
Oh my! I mentioned it.
