I think Optimum may have mistaken it for the completely different 1967 Hammer Film of the same name (which Studio Canal owns the rights to):

Prehistoric women.
Type of Work: Motion Picture
Registration Number / Date: RE0000682180 / 1994-12-19
Renewal registration for: LP0000034063 / 1966-12-31
Title: Prehistoric women.
Copyright Claimant: Hammer Film Productions, Ltd. (PWH)

Names: Hammer Film Productions, Ltd.

What incredible, inexcusable sloppiness on the part of Optimum Releasing! Every long-time reader of this forum knows that there can be two films with the same title. That's one reason why when we ask about the copyright status of a movie we always give the year of release.

Idiocracy.
