Well said. Otherwise we might have to agree Clapton shouldn'y play 'Crossroads,' etc.
But I do feel for example that 'Days Between' and 'LLR' are completely off limits for different reasons. They are very powerful it seems- the equivalent of a summation, a goodbye. Just hallowed ground material- way above some of the other late-era stuff like 'Black Muddy River' and 'Believe It Or Not.'
i'm disappointed the other band members don't feel the same way. We're only talking a song or two here, not the whole Jerry/Hunter canon. If somebody wants to wing 'Sugaree,' I say go for it..... but have some sense that not all songs are the same.

well i would disagree with you, but i have to say that when i heard furthur do "days between" they didn't really do it justice. it was good, of course, but it lacked some amount of sadness that made that song really great.
