I appreciated that thread about Jerry's finger. Explained something I have been curious about for a long while. Now can someone take me one step further? Did he finger pick with his fingers? No wise ass answers please. :)

Thanks! That's so clear, even my old eyes can see it. I always thought that finger picking with just finger tips would sound quite different from using a pick. Doesn't seem to be the case here.

With an electric guitar, finger picking sounds the same as using a pick or finger pick. When playing an acoustic guitar, the sound is not quite as bright and sharp.

I thought that was a can of cheese whiz?

Yes, Garcia said in an interview that he held his pick where his missing finger was and that he easily could switch from finger picking and back without missing a beat.

I have a GD mix cd in my bathroom and that's the first song i hear everyday to take a shower. LoL. Best Althea in my book.
