Re: The Internet Archive |
There's some hard headed poeple in this world, that's for sure. Notice how he changed the way he uploaded them? I didn't check but I'd bet it's the same stuff that got taken down once already. Anybody know if I'm right on that?

Re: The Internet Archive |
I'm not sure. This looks like a batch of several movies or a anthology. None of them look familiar to me from the thumbnails so I can't compare them to his other uploads.

Re: The Internet Archive |
http://www.archive.org/details/streamjunkieThe films at this link are Godzilla (w/Matthew Broderick), Urban Legends: Bloody Mary, Urban Legends: Final Cut, and One-Eyed Monster. All are fairly recent theatrical or major studio films, and certainly not in the public domain.
I think Sony Pictures, Columbia, and Tri-Star among others would like to know...

Re: The Internet Archive |
Ok, so he put some new ones up. I checked them out and found that they're dubbed in German. Germany has got copyright laws too, don't they?

Yes, Germany has copyright laws too but they are a lot different than U.S. copyright laws. You'd have to read them pretty carefully.

Re: The Internet Archive |
I guess nothing short of a nuclear war will stop these guys.
dar & yassine007 are back to uploading more copyrighted stuff and I've run across a new uploader to add to the list who's moniker is "en". I'm sure there's more there that I don't see since I'm just scanning through there and not really looking all that hard.
So what I get from this is no matter how egregiously you violate IA policies you wont get banned. The only way to deter these guy's is to have a moderator who will shut these file down almost as fast as these guys can upload them thus making it a waste of their time.
BUT since the IA wont bother with appointing a moderator the message I get from all this is, go ahead and upload whatever you want their not going to take it down unless someone rubs their noses in it.
And no I don't buy the argument that the people at IA are so busy with the google stuff that they don't have time for this. I don't know what their problem is but it sure is disheartening.

Re: The Internet Archive |
I streamed one that I found, brought to you by another of the friendly folks at dardarkom. I saw what looks like Arabic writing, maybe subtitles, on the picture. Do you think it might be an al qaeda plot to bomb the Archive with copyright material while the defences are down? Oh, and the picture quality of these is crap.

Re: The Internet Archive |
Banning doesnt work here. You can just get a new name with a new email addy and there they go again. This subject has come up before. I think these involve webpages on Wayback but I assume that it is the same for our problem.
http://www.archive.org/iathreads/post-view.php?id=221506http://www.archive.org/iathreads/post-view.php?id=221501I have seen a change in wording on a page here yesterday that leads me to believe that things ?might? be about to change for the better soon. I am waiting for a reply but likely wont hear anything until this coming week, and thats only if I read the item correctly and I am not just thinking wishfully.
