Re: Does anyone really like the Bob Dylan cover? |
just started groovin' to Masters of War.... pretty heavy shit, Maynard, but sorta glad I seen him 2002 than 2008.
The Slow Train Coming tour was the best of all.

If you read my thread below ("The Semi-Colon In Your Link") It will show you how to avoid that...

Jack-A-Roe was the cross dresser....
And in my opinion 'Baby Blue' was one of the worst songs/covers they ever played.

Re: Does anyone really like the Bob Dylan cover? |
I'll second Visions and add a She Belongs to Me but I think the best Dylan was done by JGB (Hunter says Dylan considered Jer the best inrerpreter of his works - read the liner notes to the Kean College release) - how can Tangled Up in Blue by JGB not crush any Dead cover. Hell, I also really enjoy Senor (Tales of Yankee Power) as done by JGB.
And Peggy-O is an old traditional tune brought over to Appalachia from those isles over the pond... which everyone put their own twist on.

Re: Does anyone really like the Bob Dylan cover? |
Disagree on this one BD. I love just about every cover of Dylan that Jerry and the Dead do. I think they are by far the best interpreters of Dylan, but I've never cared for Jerry's version of Tangled up In Blue. I don't like the tempo and I especially don't like the background singers arrangement of the chorus.
