Re: I was not aware... |
Flow man! That's in Spanish and I don't habla. Are you talking the blues/folk album him and Jerry did around 90? Or are you talking the CJ and Fish with Cassidy on bass and Jerry and Jorma and more on that Donovans reef jam?

Hi Johnny - How's the family? Marriage treating you well?
Yes, the 1991 blues/folk effort by Country Joe. Jerry plays on several of the tracks....
Take care up there!:)

Re: I was not aware... |
Going great. Thanks for asking. How about you guys?
I remember when that album came out. I was working at a record store and this guy I worked with also worked at Fantasy records which is also the label this album is on. Anyway, I don't think he ever ran into Jerry during these sessions but ran into Country Joe alot. They nicknamed him Archie Bunker ( I think it was ) certainly not due to views but due to the hat he wore and him looking older belly and all. It was in good spirit.
Now there's a guy I wished hadn't disappeared. Believe it or not I was a huge Country joe and the Fish fan even before I knew anything about the Dead.

Hey Johnny - Thanks for the reply.
All is well here too. Riley is now 3, as of yesterday. Amanda is doing very well in 1st grade.
Of course, we listen to lots and lots of GD around here......:)

Happy Birthday to Riley! Enjoy it while it lasts Flow. My 10 year old going on teenage daughter is now too cool to admit liking any Dead : (

Re: I was not aware... |
Thank you.
So many have given that advice. Damned if I ain't tryin'!
I often wonder though, why is it our nature to always look ahead? I suppose it keeps us alive, but it also distracts us from all that is happening now.
We all want the experience that comes w/ age, until we are experienced enough to know that youth is fleeting. Hang on tight baby!

non dead - pink floyd |
Talking of gems, a while back someone put up a link to Sugar megs -check out the 1972 02/20 Rainbow theatre pink floyd concert. They play Darkside Of the Moon in a very primal state. It is amazing. To me having heard the earlier version it could have been a much better album... (probably get burned at the stake for saying that, and probably deserve to be...0 Check it out, its the fourth time they've played it live, the sound quality is patchy in places but wow, what a trip

Re: non dead - pink floyd - Screaming Abdabs |
Do a search for any Screaming Abdabs.
The story goes that the members of the Floyd wanted to truly work out the kinks in this piece of music prior to laying down final tracks, and they actually toured as "The Screaming Abdabs" as rehearsal for the dark side shows.
If you like the rougher versions of these songs, and I do, then you'll love this...

I was wondering if anyone caught that....
I've been a huge floyd fan for years. have a fairly extensive collection.
I would have to recommend the following site for some amazing deep and rare stuff...

Re: I was not aware... |
If I caught you before you checked out for the night - what's this 40-minute jam you refer to? I'm presuming high flow was talking about the Superstitious Blues album, which has nothing above 6.52 so far as I know. Can you enlighten me?
