I can't stand it anymore - through the unbelievable benevolence of the tapers and guys like Charlie Miller, Rob Eaton and many, many others who are kind enough to upload their work and effort, I have the great fortune of being able to retrace my journey with the Dead undertaken from '73 (RFK 6/10) through '92 (Hampton Coliseum 3/6)

Understanding that people are entitled to their opinion (even if it is wrong :P) I just don't understand why people feel compelled to piss and moan about the quality of a recording. Especially if it's the only one in the Archive. I have no problem with a subjective comment that one upload sounds better than another but I don't understand why someone would post for the sole purpose of complaining. Especially when it is clear that they didn't listen to the "music" but that they only listened to the "recording".

I think some of these folks would find the time to bitch and complain if they were getting hung with a new rope because it was scratchy and made their neck itch.

Thanks - I'm done. Everyone Be Well.

far, far more people are in the camp on the other side of the divide; why burden yourself by contemplating the comments of the jerkweeds on the other?

I feel you, man. There's nothing like listening to a fantastic show and seeing that someone has rated it 1 star with the comment "Encore missing. Please fix." (I've actually seen comments like this many times, posted in utter screaming ignorance of the tortuous path most of these recordings have taken in order just to be here, as though they were shopping at the mall.) Oh well, as someone once said: "Take what you need and leave the rest."

Very funny. Very funny!

Not to defend them at all, as I agree with your point, but some old farts like me grew up in a time of blood and dying...er...whoops...sorry, Earl (and Clint)...what I mean to say is that some of us from the 70s grew up with "sound quality" being a huge issue and it is often the primary, initial focus for evaluating a show.

It may just stick with some so that they always feel compelled to address that right off.

Agree that you have to get beyond it. Just as I have to for 6-14-68...

Yeah or William Tell's reviews.

1968 = 5 star - "This show is Great blah blah blah . . ."

Anything else 1 or 2 stars with comments like "Well this show is OK but it would be much better if it were 1968"

Don't deny it Mr. Arrow Boy
