When you do a search the resulting list generally shows the items searched and their download numbers. I don't know why this happens but many of my posts that have been up for years now show no download numbers at all. With all the stuff IA has up, updating download numbers must be a big task. I'd like a little light on what is going on.

I'll second this. I've just noticed that the download number doesn't increment if the file is downloaded from another site. (Specifically, I hard link to the mp3 files on my homepage. If I download from there, rather than the archive.org page, the download total doesn't increment.)

This isn't an absolute functionality issue... the download mechanism seems to work perfectly fine. But I was hoping to be able to track how many downloads I'm getting per week or month (or whatever) directly off my homepage.

Plus, if the counter says you have no downloads, it makes you look like a schlub. :P

My daily, weekly, monthly and all time download list are all filled the stuff with barely any downloads but ones in the 20k range are not to be found.
