ok, I sent an email and filled out the error report.. can someone please advise how to properly upload software without it going to the ourmedia collection?

That's what's supposed to happen with general uploads: Anything that's not text, audio or movies is currently set to go as "other" to ourmedia.

BTW, due to massive/scary abuse, many programs that do go there get removed by curators. If you want to upload an item that will end up "other", you'll want to label the item very clearly, descriptively and truthfully.
