Forum: Americana Subject: 200,000 books from American Libraries: milestone


We just reached the milestone of 200,000 books from american libraries. These books have been scanned by the Internet Archive with funding from Microsoft, Yahoo, Sloan Foundation, Boston area libraries, and many others.

76 libraries have contributed to this collection. The ones that have contributed more than 1000 are:

Boston Public Library 5,787

Columbia University Libraries 1,020

New York Public Library 16,561

Prelinger Library 3,348

Princeton Theological Seminary Library 1,952

Research Library, The Getty Research Institute 2,105

The Johns Hopkins University Sheridan Libraries 1,307

The Library of Congress 7,703

University of California Libraries 164,600

University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign 5,375
