Re: 1978 |
I've just been listening to 4-11, 4-14, 4-15, 4-16, and 4-24, and there's not a bad show in the bunch. Jerry's playing is generally not quite as adventuresome as in 1977, but it is on the whole more relaxed and amiable, and there are moments of sheer brilliance. I'm really looking forward to a Road Trips drawing from these nights.

Re: 1978 |
Yeah, the reason I've skipped it is that the incomparable Charlie Miller says he has a better version which he will eventually get around to seeding after he's worked through the tsunami of other grate reworkings that he's been giving us. But I've got a bunch of other 1978 to listen to before I'll be screaming for that one. Thanks for reasserting its excellence.

Re: 1978 |
It appears that the link for the clips allow you to play all in continuous stream - just started w/ jackstraw, so we shall see. nice to know mr miller is going to hit same. not saying it's the best or as heavy as others, just special to me for many reaons (not least of all I got to meet the band in hampton in '84 as dj for college station and one of reasons wanted to meet was to get copy of the film for selves)

Re: 1978 |
if you hit the all videos link,or all 25, whatever, it does allow you to "play all" - so you can see the entire show. Pretty sweet - I had no idea it was out there in this form until this topic came up. Pretty nice to find it (now if only the hoops team can live us to this performance)
