how in heck did you get a post from Oct 7th to appear as a reply to one from Nov. 14th - and all the others from Oct 7th to bump up in this thread?
When I revise an old post, it shows up in the recent posts box but not on the current forum page.
Is the secret that you revise the 1st post in a thread that you started?
This is the craziest thread - date-wise - I've ever seen.
and little of it makes any sense to the uninitiated!
I just wanna know - how'd you and the others do it - bouncing back and forth from one chrono synclastic infundibulum to another...

Chronological order of posts |
There are several ways to review forum posts.
The front page at archive shows them in chronological order, regardless of their parent thread's place in the timeline.
The Forums page shows the most recent post only in each forum.
The specific collection page that has the forum at the bottom orders posts by the chronological order of the parent post with tree branches away towards the right to indicate replies.
The RSS feed from that page is much like the archive front page but forum specific.
If you go back and revise your thread parent post, it bumps it up on the forum page. Even though the replies technically came after, the parent thread date indicates when it was revised.
I was deleting crap I said to persons when feeding into flame wars I should have ignored, but since you cannot delete at thread with replies the only option is to revise the post, sorry for the confusion.

cream-puff ... as NC says in his reply to yours, he tweaked his original post, thus changing the date of his post; and my only crime is being a part of this thread that got thrust to the top of the forum upon the edit job; best leave it there and not think too much on it ... Arb.
