after ten years of war in china, the japenese nation had lost any claim to decency. They used their state religion to justify the most dreadful atrocities,. The civilised world, in 1942, lived in terror that Japan would triumph.

The people in question were not citizens of Japan, they were Americans.

Meanwhile, even the citizens of Japan weren't responsible for the actions of the Japanese military any more than you are responsible for the actions of American Soldiers in Abu Ghraib.

Unless, of course, you are Donald Rumsfeld.
