Don't hate me...NONDEAD |
We did this a long time ago, and thought I would try again. Who do you picture when you think of a particular poster? Cannot cheat by going on their pics (posted a while back)--what visual image do you have when reading (we all do it)?
Play nice. I'll start.
Ashes: Jesus Christ (seriously; westernized, standard depiction).
Arbuthnot: Will Geer (bearclaw guy in Jeremiah Johnson)
McGlone: Jack Palance with Shane's demeanor
Dire: Clive Owen dunking a basketball
HighFlow: Luke Skywalker dunking a basketball
Ghost: Wally Cox (but in a good way)

Re: Don't hate me...NONDEAD |
That's a tough one
William Tell -- Happy guy with apples and arrows
Dire -- well since NC posted that tribute video my image of Dire is forever altered
JOTS -- my cousin Johnny - not sure why
Ashes -- he once mentiond biking and jogging and swiming about a million miles so I picture a kindhearted superhero - if I have to pic an image it would be Underdog
GOP - Biker dude
Bluedevil - Tasmanian Devil of Bugs Bunny fame
Cliff Hucker & Wharfrat - Fishermen - of course this is 'cause they posted a picture from their fishing excursion
Speaking in Swords - A sword cartoon character
Avg Joe - well an average joe
Robthewordsmith - My pal Rob from college (somewhat of a wiseguy who was not averse to tossing back a few and some verbal sparring)
NoiseCollector - Travelocity Gnome
Staggerlieb - Avram Belinski (The Frisco Kid - Gene Wilder)
I'm sure I've missed quite a few

Okay, here's one that you have to keep under your hat--hopefully she will take it as a true compliment, which it is: DB as Shirley Temple.
She is always talking about the Good Ship Lollipop (which it IS), and she is always bubbly, up beat, etc., etc.
She'll probably take this the wrong way, but I really do mean it postively.

RJD!!! Yes!!! But I'm at least 3 inches taller than him. My favorite Dio story is when he was on the Dehumanizer tour with Sabbath and Ozzy was doing his farefell tour. Ozzy invited Sabbath to open up for him in Southern California. I guess Dio was offended with the idea of opening up for Ozzy. So he told them all to fuck off and immediately quit the band. Classic. That is the first time when Halford sang with Sabbath.

That is good. And so is Willis. Good ones, Lou. As for me, for some reason I always form mental images when reading someone. When we did this a long while back, I recall people got irritated, so I was worried, but seems people took it well, enjoyed it a bit, and it was a break from the other antics.

Just read this--too funny. Amazingly, as a kid, 10-12 yrs old, I could do an amazing imitation of Rod. All my friends used to beg me to do it--it's all about cadence and inflection. Enjoyed doing yours--you have the written word down which made it easy (I had to always do his own since I couldn't think fast enough to come up with my own original material).

Cool post. I mostly though of you guys as faces in the crowd at a show. Like William Tell is this guy in the 60's milk truck that I'd always see and talk to sometimes and Blue Devil is the shakedown street dude. The only one I thought of in Star terms is that Dire Wolf always looks like Dustin Hoffman [Circa Urban Cowboy Times] for some reason.
