I downloaded Captain Calamity and, though it said the download had completed, the end is missing from the film.

I have been trying to download a movie called "ride Ranger ride"

http://www.archive.org/movies/details-db.php?collection=feature_films&collectionid=ride_ranger_ride

and I can never get past 2 gig worth of the movie. The whole movie shows thats its 3 gig in size. Have you got a work around for this?

Could that possibly be due to the limit on file size in Windows? 2Gb is one of the limits?

Hey,

Researching this a little further, if you're always having trouble with files that stop downloading at 2gb, the earlier FAT filesystem Windows file system do indeed have a file limit of that size - I think the original Windows 95, before upgrades, had this problem - I found an article which mentions this problem on InformIT.com.

[Oh, I note someone else replied with a similar comment - some versions of Windows 98 have the same problem, looks like an upgrade to NTFS might help you.]

Which version of Captain Calamity seemed to have the end missing? (MPEG1, 2 or 4?) I'll download it and see if I can replicate it

The MPEG1 version. Looking at the file size, I only got 164Mb of it and the program details say 187Mb...

The end is missing from Lying Lips too. Again MPEG1. These all seemed to complete successfully, downloading with Opera.
