The Bridge |
We spend our time here for fun, music, and conversation, but today we also need to send good healing vibes and say a prayer for the people of Minneapolis.

I got told I was incorrect in pointing out the hypocrisy of "killing" Vick last week.

Re: The Bridge |
All I ask you to do was explain your remark and not leave it to the ambiguous mutual understanding. Its great to have opinions but it's another thing to actually be able to back it up and show what you are saying is true. Anybody can make blanket statements that sound correct but underneath or with further thinking it might not be right. Look no further than Karl Rove and his mastery of spinning the truth.
Like I said I do not think it's a good comparison to contrast a business ethic issue like Addias using slave labor overseas to an individual personal responsibility issue like Mike Vick torturing dogs to their death(allegedly).
They have similarities but they are not the same (both are morally unethical). You say its hypocritical for Addias or Nike to point the finger at Vick when they may or may not be doing something you don't like. Explain that and change my mind, it wouldn't be hard to do. But I won't just fall for a quick glib because it seems right.

I'm a Zep fan, too, but let's try to refrain from trivializing the incident, shall we?

Yeah man this whole thing is pretty wild....It's unbelievable and truly a sad day.
Fox Nazi News are trying to instill more fear by asking the question if this is was a terrorist act. Will they ever stop trying to scare people into continuing warfare with other cultures?

extension of the Karl Rove/Dick Chenney ministry.
I would add GW Bush to the title but I am of the belief he hasn't a clue whats really going on except that he is a "uniter".

That's fine and well and good for you, strat, but I can assure you there are many families that are shedding tears today and they deserve to be thought of with some sense of decency and respect.

Just got a hold of all my family members in Minneapolis and they're all alright. As of yet, none of them has suffered (or realized) any loss of friends and/or acquaintances, although it may not be known today who is missing.

Very glad to hear that, daliguana. I just read a little while ago that the number of confirmed fatalities has been lowered from nine to only four. That, of course, is good news, but we still sympathize with the families and friends of those four who did perish.

Re: The Bridge |
i cant imagine how aweful it must be for those divers to be checking out the cars in the river and seeing the bodies. that death toll is going to go up fast - they are running plate numbers now to determine the deceaseds' possible names
rough job and an aweful tragedy
glad dali's family and friends are safe

Re: The Bridge |
Yeah, some of the stories people have told about being in their cars during the collapse are just horrifying-"I started screaming, 'We're going down! We're going down!'"
Can you imagine?
And what about all those kids on the bus? I don't think any of them were hurt too badly, although I'm not positive about that, but still. My God. Proves once again, as we get closer to a new school year, we have to make sure we give them a big hug and kiss and tell them we love them before ever sending them out the door.
