Sounds logical. Last time I encountered a flying spot scanner was a long time ago. It was a set-top unit that played Super 8 film on TV. I saw one on a shelf at a Union Mission last year. I probab...
Posted by: Frank Panucci

The jello effect you are seeing to often exists in the original transfer. The films were transferred with a telecine that has a line array CCD or flying spot (Cintel or Bosch FDL-60) where it's captur...
Posted by: A/V Geeks

Other recent files, including the re-encodes, are similar.
That's too bad.
Unfortunately, the file from which I successfully pulled a clean 24fps sequence this past weekend was an older MPEG2 version,...
Posted by: Frank Panucci

Thanks Frank...glad to know I'm not losing my mind! It's a shame as many older encodes were easily converted to 24fps...
Posted by: Scribble

Hm. "Sinclair" looks fine for watching on the PC, and it looks good when burned to DVD for TV viewing. However, NO native AE or expensive third-party plugins can break it down to clean 24fps output....
Posted by: Frank Panucci

I haven't tried "Sinclair" yet, but some other recent videos have been good candidates for pulldown removal. When I have a spare few minutes I'll check Sinclair. A few of the recent files have some ...
Posted by: Frank Panucci
