Subject: Gorematory - Zombie Slaughterfest Review
Before I even start this review let me first mention that this is one of favorite TFR albums. So that said, here's my review haha. First off, this album is death metal with a heavy thrash metal influence. Picture a cross between Slayer and Death. That's what this is. But not only is it a good combination;the tunes are freaking amazing. The riffs are catchy, not to light, but not really heavy either. The distortion is good. It doesn't distort to the point where it's hard to hear each note. In fact, you can hear literally every single note played easily. But the distortion is still there, and gives the album an old style sound. Musically, the songs are arranged in an easy to follow format, with both verses and choruses. The vocals are great because you can easily understand the lyrics, but they are delivered with enough power to maintain a sense of brutality. They are well balanced, and don't overpower anything else. They are more towards the higher pitched end of death metal vocals, so they blend with the lighter sound of the guitars.

The guitar part tends to be faced paced, like all of the songs, with an emphasis on tremolo picking and solos. I'm one of those people who loves guitar solos, so this is a big plus for me. The guitar especially shines on Gorematory's cover of "Zombie Ritual." The solo is pretty short, but its sticks out. Throughout the album the riffs maintain a high energy feel, but they are varied enough so the listener doesn't get bored. However, if you were being real picky, you could point out that some of the songs could just be blended together to make a longer song. Still, it doesn't change the facts that the riffs are memorable.

Overall I have absolutely no complaints for this album. It's catchy, easy to follow, upbeat and you can listen to it over and over and hear a new thing every time. If you like thrash metal check it out. Death metal people may be less inclined to listen, but should check it out anyway, especially if you like old school death metal.

Subject: Very tight and well produced.
Here is some very well produced and played death metal. Not the usual "Mortician clone" that usually appears from the underground scene. Well written songs, clean (but appropriate) production and tight musicianship.
