Hate Groups - According to press coverage, right-wing extremism is experiencing a resurgence in the United States. It's estimated that there are more then a thousand such groups. We'll be speaking with FBI Special Agent in Charge Herb Brown about the so-called "Hate Groups" in the Sacramento and Northern California areas, and how those groups are impacting our communities. In addition, Mr. Brown will explain jurisdiction of the FBI in terms of hate crimes and their current state in our area, and what can the community do to report such crimes by contacting the FBI with questions, concerns, or to identify suspicious groups.

"Blood and Honour" - White supremacist hate music is no new thing, but after a man involved in one of these hate music bands killed six people in a Sikh Temple in Wisconsin the genre has flowed into mainstream of America's consciousness. In fact, these white power bands are in almost every city in America and right now many of them are secretly planning for an annual concert that takes place on or around August 11 each year. That's Saturday, and the nearest concert of this type is outside Modesto. "Blood & Honour" is a neo-Nazi music promotion network and political group founded in 1987 that organizes this concert to celebrate the birthday of founder Ian Stuart Donaldson. To tell us more about the concert and hate bands in Northern California is a reporter from the Modesto Anarcho.

Capitol Chat - Political Reporter for The Sacramento Bee, Torey Van Oot, joins us to discuss legislative hearings on the California State Parks' hidden surplus, the mass of bills working their way through the legislature, and more, in this edition of Capitol Chat.

Investigating Mars - UC Davis geology professor Dawn Sumner has plenty of scientific work to do now that the Mars rover Curiosity has succesfully touched down on the Red Planet on Sunday (Aug. 5), after a nine-month, 352 million-mile journey through space. Sumner, a co-investigator for NASA's Mars Science Laboratory team, will serve as a long-term planner from the mission's base at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA. One of her first tasks will likely be to direct Curiosity, via computer, to shoot some of the first true color photographs ever taken of Mars. She will also coordinate the first scientific interpretations and help to make daily decisions about the research vehicle's activities. Sumner will share this role with an international team of scientists during the first three months of Curiosity's two-year mission. After this, she will assist the mission from UC Davis. Here is the link to an animation video of Curiosity Rover's landing on Mars.

2012 Olympics Wrap Up - As the London Olympics come to a close, we recap the wins and losses of area athletes who competed in the games.
