Simply Awesome.
Yes I heard every one of these songs. This MASSIVE retrospective, (Think a box set without the box) is a wonderful overview of this charming Irish singer's work. Among the highlights, her Silvery Moon is quite superb, along with her awesome DOn't Get Married Any More Ma. I like how there were multiple versions of these songs in different years. Some of these are noticibly different. Not too sure why she had to do this, but it's quite great all the same. A bit of a warning, there ARE some racist songs (especially If the man on the moon was a coon') but that was the songs of the time so... The set is wonderfully closed by the awesome 'Grandma Was A Girl' about life in the 1850's, compared to now (the 1910's). Even then, they were complaining about how rude people are now, compared to the "old days". Great great great!
